What is recycled plastic (PCR, PIR)

PCR stands for Post-Consumer Recycled material, which is recycled consumer plastic, such as recycled PET, PE, PP, HDPE, etc., such as waste plastic generated from consumer goods such as lunch boxes, shampoo bottles, mineral water bottles, washing machine tubs, etc., which is then processed and used to manufacture new packaging materials.

PIR stands for Post-Industrial Recycled material, which refers to materials generated by industry due to the production process itself, commonly known as water mouth materials and waste materials.

Why use PCR plastic?

(1) PCR plastic is one of the important directions to reduce plastic pollution and contribute to "carbon neutrality"

Since the invention of plastic, plastic products have brought great convenience to human life, and it is difficult for humans to leave plastic products. However, the garbage problem caused by plastic products has become one of the development dilemmas of mankind. Humans produce about 30 million tons of plastic waste every year, of which 14.1 million tons are plastic packaging waste. Only a very small part of plastic waste is properly handled. According to data, the recycling rate is only 14%, and the vast majority are downgraded recycling, with an effective recycling rate of only 2% (data source: "Single-use plastics a roadmap for sustainability"), indicating that plastic recycling is still at a low level.

Then use PCR plastic mixed with virgin plastic to manufacture plastic products. This method not only reduces carbon dioxide emissions, but also reduces energy consumption, helping to protect the environment.

(2) The use of PCR plastic further promotes the recycling of waste plastics

The more people use PCR plastics, the greater the demand, which will further enhance the recycling of waste plastics, and will gradually change the recycling model and business operation of waste plastics, meaning less waste plastics will be landfilled, incinerated and exist in the natural environment.

After years of practice,Centrway Plastics Company has used recycled materials in many of the company's packaging and daily products, achieving a lower carbon footprint and providing a recycled plastic product with both sustainability and high quality, giving plastic waste a "second life".
